GIS Mapping and Analysis

GIS mapping and analysis is a vital service that Peterson & VandenBerg Environmental utilizes to preliminarily evaluate a site, prepare site plans, and identify features that may be difficult to evaluate onsite.

GIS is a valuable tool that is heavily utilized by government agencies, such as EGLE. We stay up-to-date to provide you GIS services that can help you start your project.

GIS Mapping for Regulated Features

By leveraging the power of GIS and online databases, we can conduct remote property evaluations to approximate the extent of EGLE, Corps, County, and/or Township jurisdiction concerning your project. Detectable features include wetlands, water bodies, topography, floodplains, and land use changes. These in-office reviews are preliminary in nature and do not take the place of an onsite review. However, GIS provides a great starting point from which we can help you plan the next steps for your project.

GIS Analysis of Critical Dunes, High Risk Erosion Areas, and Wetlands

Peterson & VandenBerg Environmental can take data collected via GPS or professional survey - such as wetland flags, steep slopes, and setback locations - and map it to be compared with your proposed project in order to determine what features will be impacted. Plans can be adjusted as needed within GIS to minimize impacts where possible and ensure your project can move forward and permits can be applied for.
