Shoreline Protection

Michigan's shorelines are ever-changing due to rising and lowering water levels, erosion, and developments along the shoreline. In order to mitigate negative impacts these changes can have on your property, sometimes shoreline protection and dune restoration are needed.

Dune Restoration

Erosion at the bottom or top of a dune can quickly destabilize it and threaten critical infrastructure on a property. Once the erosion is addressed, dune restoration, such as grading and dune grass plantings, can be performed to return it to a stable state. Dune restoration often requires an EGLE and/or Corps permit.

Shoreline Protection

Investing in adequate shoreline protection when needed, such as rip-rap (pictured), is vital to ensuring the longevity of your lakefront property.

We work with multiple contractors, engineers, and landscape architects to create a shoreline protection design that is best suited for each property and permittable by EGLE and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
